Prologue: Memories

The wind howled and roared to life as the moon started to raise. The trees swayed as day turned to night and sun turned to moon. It always happened like this, it was a normal evening. The sky turned a dark pink and shadowed into orange which painted the ground crimson, the ground looked like blood under hoof and the trees looked as if they had gone through many wars. The leaves on them tattered and turning red as fall came around the corner and the air had a chill to it this night. Stars dotted the sky and glowed bright as the moon rose above and turned the ground to silver. Three ponies watched tonight, one lowered her wings to bring down the sun and one raised hers to bring it up.
They were the sisters, one with a long rainbow mane that flowed as if it were the wind of the day, a pure white coat with only a small hint of pink in the light and two giant wings that seemed about seven foot wide each. As well as a long horn that sat atop her head, which was glowing a faint yellow like the suns light. She dropped her wings down and the moon now shown and the sun had vanished behind the tree tops.

The other sister continued to raise her wings, eyes closed as she enjoyed the feel of the wind ruffling her fur and a smile on her lips. Her coat was a dark blue almost purple and seemed to glow in the night. Her mane was a shinning blue that was lighter in the day and darker in the might. Much like night itself. Each sister had a mark on the flank, which symbolized there power and strength. The larger sister with the rainbow mane has a large golden sun on her fur that glowed lightly when she was happy and dulled when she was upset. And the younger one held a moon that shimmered on her fur. Both sisters were beautiful and strong and as the moon rose they nodded without a word and slunk back into the castle.

I stood only a few wing lengths away from the two, I didn't want them to see me. I wanted to become the shadows which ultimately was easy for an Alicorn such as myself. My coat a light gray, and my mane a darker gray with the slightest purple near the bangs. I had put it up in a rather royal fashion, much like a palace horse. Near and well groomed, along with my tail. My wings came out to about seven foot and seemed a bit big for me still. The only two things that ever stood out about me on my coat was my cutie mark, a dark purple star with black marks, and my holly green eyes. But tonight I wasn't the pony I was use to being, anger hot as fire churned in my blood and it almost felt like I was on fire. I had worked so hard to get were I am. What I wanted, to raise the moon and sun like the sisters. My magic was strong enough, it was my talent after all. But the sisters disagreed. My teacher, princess Celestia, said I wanted too much and was going to give the kingdom to her nephew when she had gone from the Earth. But why? He was a fool and he wasn't even old enough to understand. He wasn't even an Alicorn, the coward couldn't rule a kingdom. Not like I could. As I watched them go inside I remained outside of the castle, deep in thought. The wind ranked through my mane and ruffled it slightly.

"Not long now" I said aloud as if some pony could hear me.
My ears were pricked forward as I listened for any sounds around me, the forest swayed and groaned softly as the wind continued to pick up and a single drop of rain landed square on my nose. With a quick motion I slapped my wing over my nose and looked up at the sky. The dark clouds started to loom over the castle and cover the once bright moon. I could spot a few Pegasus ponies floating through the sky and moving the clouds along. I narrowed my eyes against the rain as it started to hiss down and fall with a small hum to the earth below turning it to mud. I didn't move as the night dragged on, each heart beat seemed like hours. Soon the lights in the castle snapped off and all was still inside. I stood slowly as if I was afraid of getting caught. The mud that I laid in dripped off me and ran down my legs. My fur now caked in the gross goo as the rumble of thunder grew louder and closer. The storm had not hit yet but it was getting closer with each passing second. I unfurled my wings and shivered as the cold rain seeped through my fur and stuck to my skin. With a silent leap into the air the wind ran through my feathers and hissed softly as I took to the sky. The rain ran over my fur and I couldn't help but smile but it quickly faded.
"What...am I doing?" I asked aloud as I staid hoovering above the ground.

It was all clear in my mind, get into my teachers room and...then what? A voice burned into the back of my head, over and over repeating 'death' but did I want to kill the one pony who took me in? Who raised me as her own and trained me? Who loved me? The voice purred into my ear like a whisper from the wind "she won't give you what you want, what you need" its voice was female and male all at once it seemed, it was sweet and dark. Like taking a bit of dark chocolate. Closing my eyes and glowing I could feel warmth running through me as magic started to light my horn and I smirked only a few seconds later pain bolted through my veins and I let out a small yelp of pain, magic exploded from me and collided with the flash of lightning above the sky causing my eyes to light up. Magic flowed from my horn and a rip broke through the clouds and as the magic died so did the light. Power flowed through my veins and as I opened my eyes I could feel the magic flowing from my every area of my body.

"Here I come, Princess" I spat out the last word like a curse, chuckling darkly. "You deserve that power, she is just afraid of how strong you will be" the voice cooed. He chuckled and his eyes glowed darkly as he hoovered towards the castle, the castle stood tall and looked gray against the darkness of the sky. The rain pattered down on the castle as I got closer and closer, being as quiet as I possibly can. The only thing that shine in the night was my eyes, with magic, I was able to see through the dark. It turned the world around me to green as I got to a wind and put a hoof softly to it, inside was a large bed with glow in the dark stars covering the walls and shinning bright. A single light cloud be seen, which was the glow of the younger sisters horn. She was looking down and reading over the words of a book, a small smile on her face. The sheets from her pale blue bed pulled up to her neck and wrapped around her. A few small stuffed animals littered the ground as well as one or two articles of clothing. I watched her in silence, the object of my affection.

"What makes you think she will feel for you?" the voice inside my head asked, I pricked my ears with a frown "No" I spoke aloud causing Luna to blink a few times and turn her head. Quick as lightning I bolted upwards with a few flaps of my wings. The rain continued to hit me like bullets as I peaked slowly into the next window, narrowing my eyes against the glass and smirking. In the room was a large queen sized bed with curtains covering it, the room color itself was a soft pink with small puffy clouds painted on the walls. A few photos sat on the desk near the bed along with a lamp that spiraled upwards and shed light out to the ceiling. A picture hung right beside the bed of Celestia and a very odd being that I never had the chance to meet. Discord, the being of Chaos as I learned.
I watched her for awhile, she was simply laying in her bed. Eyes closed, I assumed she was listening to music since I could see a record player moving beside her bed. I felt my eyes growing heavy and my thoughts becoming scattered. I didn't want to kill her, but then again I did. And what about Luna? My mind was a haze and I started to argue with the voice.
"I can't do this" I snarled to him.
"You must"
"But if I kill them, then what will the ponies think of me?"
"They won't know, King."
As I stayed there arguing I didn't notice her light flicker out and soon she laid still.
"Fool" the voice snapped, I turned back to the window as the rain started to fall down even slower now as if the storm was clearing up. But the storm in my head and heart was still raging. I tapped the glass lightly and when she didn't move all I could do was shut down my thoughts and let my instincts flow. I could feel my horn heat up as magic started form and the glowing from my horn could be seen in the reflection of the window. He pushed his horn lightly to the window and the glass around it melted like hot butter and ran down the side of the castle. I instantly leaped in and tucked in my wings so I would roll across the floor. The sound of Thunder slammed hard into the house and made it shake, freezing up I watched her with wide eyes. She didn't move just murmured something in her sleep, I smiled and trotted silently over to her bed. Only a few heart beats from now, she will be gone. And I will rule. Magic instantly ran through me, I could feel the charge from the lightning and the power of the thunder running through me as the room light up yellow from my magic.
"Dear Princess Celestia" I yelled out, mockingly.

A loud gasp came from her bed, but now all I could see was red. I could feel her surprise, disappointment, rage and sadness rolling off her in waves. I yelled out as the power became painful and ran through my body. I pointed towards her, and fired. My body was blown back a few wing lengths away and pain shot through me like hot fire as my back met with the wall. But I hoped that I got her as I collapsed to the ground, opening my eyes slowly instant fear plunged into my mind. There she was laying a hoof step away from the bed. Blood was blown against the wall and as I scrambled up iron exploded into my mouth. I looked down and saw the bits of my horn laying on the floor. All was silent, except the rain outside. The fear ran away and glory quickly followed, I shakenly walked towards my horn and it instantly started to glow. The shattered pieces rebuilt themselves and fixed atop my head. I limped over to Celestia and put a hoof on her fur.
"From now on I am king SwiftSpell!" I declared
"No."
I froze, that voice.
Turning back to the door, lightning flashed and there stood Luna. Her eyes filled with rage that I've never seen in her before and her ears pinned back to her skull. I saw were the wall was smashed in and noticed the door had been knocked off its hinges. I didn't know it at the time, but I had burnt the wall paper off.
"Luna." My voice was harsh and I didn't even recognize it.
A light glowed behind me, I turned quickly to see Celestia standing behind me. Her eyes glowing a soft yellow. Fear came back as I turned back to Luna, my wings unfurling as if I could fly away. Her eyes glowed dark blue. I took a step towards the window and allowed my magic to start flaring up once more.
"I killed you once, I can do it again" I snapped out but Celestia put her hoof in the air.
"My once faithful student, you are no longer aloud in Canterlot."
I felt my heart break, I sneered at her and continued to walk back towards the opened window. Luna looked dark as the night as she glared at me, her voice crackled and changed as if she were a bit more mature. It seemed odd to me, she almost seemed evil.
"Get out, or be turned to stone"
I felt cornered, something inside me wanted to fight. But with the elements of harmony I knew I was outmatched.
"Listen to me, Swiftspell. You are destine for great things. But ruling Equestria isn't one of them!" Celestia yelled out.
I spat at her, eyes narrowed to brilliant greens slits
"Lies! All lies!" I yelled, the voice hummed in my ear and I smiled "My name isn't Swiftspell" Lightning flashed behind me as if I needed dramatic effect "It's Furyspell!" I snapped out before turning and leaping out of the window. The rain started to hiss down once more as I started to free fall out the window. A part of me wanted to fall to the ground below and die, in the cold ground. All alone, I've never felt more alone in my life. Why did I listen to my voice, why did I do it. I felt a sharp pain in my flank and as I looked down at my cutie mark the once only good feature on me, a beautiful black and purple star, was now a shattered one. Sadness churned and as I almost hit the ground my wings snapped out and I was pushed into the air by the harsh wind.
"You are destine for great things, becoming king"
The voice purred as I started to fly off into the storm clouds. Silently vowing to come back after I've learned more and become stronger. Faster. Smarter. I will do anything in my power to become those things. And no pony will stand in my way. I couldn't help but laugh as I fly off past the castle and onto places that I didn't know off.

"World, here I come"
Pretty sure no one will probably read this, but I love writing! So I figured, why not?

Probably some spelling/grammar errors.

Might re-write it and make it longer. About 3 pages now. Also, this story will not be in first person! Only the prologue.

About:

The alicorn Swiftspell wanted nothing more than power, he wanted to rule. His ambition got the better of him and he sets off to kill the Princess.

Don't want to write more, I'll ruin it. Like any brony cares XDD

ANOTHER NOTE!
No romantic interest will happen between him and any canon character. Period.
